https://nvpublicationhouse.com/index.php/nvleijp/article/view/2195

This study explores the potential of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) to enhance higher-class students’ writing competence and examines teachers’ experiences in applying TBLT globally and within the Uzbek educational context. Although TBLT has been widely recognized for promoting communicative competence and learner autonomy, its implementation in secondary EFL writing classes remains inconsistent. The research employs a qualitative and quantitative mixed-method approach involving two groups of 10th and 11th-grade students and four English teachers in Uzbekistan. Data were collected through pre- and post-writing assessments, classroom observations, teacher interviews, and student reflections. Findings reveal that teachers familiar with task-based instruction observe improvements in students’ lexical variety, syntactic accuracy, and content organization. However, challenges such as limited training, exam-oriented systems, and large class sizes constrain full adoption. The study concludes that integrating TBLT principles into writing instruction develops both linguistic and cognitive competence, fostering learner engagement and critical thinking. Recommendations include sustained teacher development, curriculum alignment, and gradual integration of communicative, authentic writing tasks into secondary EFL classrooms.
Otaqulova Dildora Khakimbek Qizi

https://nvpublicationhouse.com/index.php/nvleijp/article/view/2546

This article analyzes the pedagogical function of the Venn diagram as a graphic organizer for instructing on the similarities and differences in the application of synonyms in both foreign language and native language classrooms. Graphic organizers are well-known tools that help with understanding and vocabulary building, but their potential to help with nuanced synonym knowledge and collocational awareness is still not fully understood. The paper employs a narrative review methodology, integrating empirical and practitioner-focused research on Venn diagrams and graphic organizers in language education, alongside theoretical discourse on lexical semantics and synonymy. The analysis demonstrates that Venn diagrams facilitate learners in visualizing overlapping and contrasting semantic features, linking form, meaning, and usage, and expressing nuanced distinctions between near-synonyms. Research on reading comprehension and vocabulary acquisition indicates that Venn diagram-based instruction can result in significant improvements in students' capacities to compare concepts, classify lexical items, and assimilate new vocabulary into pre-existing semantic networks. Graphic organizers are said to be especially helpful for English language learners because they are visual and have little text, and they can help students think more deeply about language. Based on this, the article suggests a structured teaching model that uses Venn diagrams to look at synonym sets in context, compare register and connotation, and improve how students explain metalinguistics. The conclusion emphasizes the role of Venn diagrams in facilitating profound vocabulary acquisition, addresses the constraints within the existing evidence base, and proposes avenues for forthcoming classroom-based research on synonym instruction.
Sadinov Oybek

https://nvpublicationhouse.com/index.php/nvleijp/article/view/2193

Active, generative engagement is a decisive predictor of learning gains in science education, yet many university methods courses still rely on transmissive routines that leave pre-service teachers as passive recipients of information. This paper investigates the lapbook—a student-constructed, interactive folder composed of flaps, pockets, and mini-books—as a low-cost, high-structure medium for orchestrating cognitive activity in natural science lessons. Drawing on constructivism, multimedia learning, cognitive load theory, and generative learning, we propose a mechanism by which lapbooks coordinate dual coding, elaboration, self-explanation, retrieval practice, and metacognitive monitoring. We then report a quasi-experimental study with 120 second-year pedagogical university students enrolled in a science methods course. An eight-week intervention contrasted lapbook-centered lessons with business-as-usual workbook activities. Outcomes included a Cognitive Activity in Science Scale (CASS), a performance-based project rubric, a delayed retention test, and systematic classroom observations. Compared with controls, the lapbook group demonstrated significantly greater post-intervention cognitive activity (CASS M = 3.82 vs. 3.33 on a 5-point scale; t(118) = 6.40, p < .001, d = 1.17), higher transfer and self-regulation subscale scores, improved project quality, and stronger four-week retention (78.4% vs. 69.1%). Observational evidence indicated sustained time-on-task and more frequent student-initiated explanations. We interpret these effects as the result of structured generative production coupled with externalized knowledge organization that lightens extraneous load while enriching semantic networks. The paper concludes with design principles for integrating lapbooks into methods courses and school placements, limitations concerning instructor fidelity and measurement generalizability, and implications for pre-service teacher preparation in inquiry-oriented science.
Axundjanova Nargiza Albertovna

https://nvpublicationhouse.com/index.php/nvleijp/article/view/2537

Analytical chemistry is an important part of undergraduate chemistry programs because it teaches students how to get accurate data that can be used to make decisions in research, business, and environmental monitoring. But traditional "recipe-style" lab instruction often produces students who can follow directions but have a hard time designing experiments, figuring out how to fix problems, or making sense of complicated datasets. Problem-based learning (PBL) provides a learner-centered approach that contextualizes laboratory techniques within genuine analytical challenges, necessitating the integration of theory, practice, and professional competencies. This article delineates a pedagogical framework for incorporating Project-Based Learning (PBL) into an undergraduate analytical chemistry curriculum, specifically aimed at augmenting students' practical competencies. A quasi-experimental design is delineated, contrasting a PBL-oriented laboratory sequence with a traditional verification-style laboratory over the course of one semester. Data sources comprise a rubric-based evaluation of manipulative skills and data management, performance on open-ended practical examinations, and student self-reports regarding confidence and autonomy. The results show that students in the PBL section are better at procedural fluency, recognizing mistakes, handling instruments, evaluating data, and working as a team than students in the traditional section. They also make at least the same amount of progress in understanding concepts. The discussion elucidates these findings in the context of recent studies on PBL in analytical chemistry laboratories, emphasizing the significance of scaffolding, the congruence between problems and techniques, and the explicit evaluation of practical skills. The article ends with useful tips for teachers who want to add PBL in stages, as well as ideas for more research on how to keep and transfer analytical lab skills over time.
Jurayeva Barno Abdixalilovna

https://nvpublicationhouse.com/index.php/nvleijp/article/view/2184

The article is devoted to the psychological and pedagogical aspects of using support technology in teaching Russian as a foreign language. In the practice of teaching Russian, support technology occupies a prominent place among other modern educational technologies. The effectiveness of using support technology depends on the bilateral asymmetry of the cerebral hemispheres. In psychological research, the scientifically grounded view of the functional heterogeneity of the left and right hemispheres of the human brain has long been established. The article presents supporting cues accompanied by brief linguistic notes. By the nature of its application, support technology is general-pedagogical and is therefore to a certain extent universal. This is evidenced by the fact that on the basis of this technology numerous specific methods of teaching a wide range of natural and humanities disciplines have been developed and are widely used, both in general secondary schools and in higher education institutions.
Jalalova Sayyora Mirxaydarovna

https://nvpublicationhouse.com/index.php/nvleijp/article/view/2207

Executive functions (EF) and motivation are two critical constructs in early childhood development, each independently linked to positive developmental and academic outcomes. While a growing body of research has explored these constructs separately, a comprehensive synthesis of their interrelationship is needed to fully understand their combined impact. This review integrates findings from a broad range of literature to propose a reciprocal feedback loop model wherein executive functions and motivation are mutually reinforcing. The paper synthesizes evidence demonstrating how core EF components—working memory, inhibitory control, and cognitive flexibility—provide the cognitive architecture for sustained, motivated behavior. Simultaneously, it illustrates how intrinsic motivation, particularly mastery motivation, drives a child's engagement in complex activities that inherently strengthen and refine their executive functions. The review also identifies key moderating factors, including the quality of the teacher-child relationship and the educational environment. It concludes by proposing a new, integrated pedagogical framework that leverages strategies such as play-based learning and nature-based education to simultaneously foster both cognitive and motivational skills. The findings of this review underscore the importance of moving beyond a fragmented view of early development to adopt a holistic approach that recognizes the dynamic interplay between executive function and motivation as a cornerstone of school readiness.

Dr. Kenan A. https://nvpublicationhouse.com/index.php/nvleijp/article/view/2185

The increasing complexity of the modern world necessitates that children develop skills beyond academic knowledge, with social-emotional competencies being critical for lifelong success. While the benefits of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) are well-documented in educational settings, its application within the family context, particularly in non-Western cultures like Uzbekistan, remains largely unexplored. This article aims to bridge this gap by analyzing the opportunities and challenges of applying the five core principles of SEL (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making) within the Uzbek family environment. Through a review of foundational SEL literature and an analysis of Uzbek cultural values, the article reveals a natural synergy between SEL components and traditional values such as respect for elders (hurmat), hospitality (mehmondo‘stlik), and communal solidarity (hamjihatlik). However, it also identifies a potential conflict between the Western emphasis on direct emotional expression and the Uzbek cultural value for collective harmony. To resolve this tension, the article proposes a framework of "respectful communication," which adapts SEL principles to the local context. Ultimately, this study offers a culturally sensitive model for parents and educators to foster emotionally healthy and adaptable children, equipped for the challenges of the 21st century.
Yakubov Odiljon Tolibjon ugli
